Steel Mountains LLC was founded by Advisor Mahmoud Refaat with a team of geologists and mining engineers who believed the best iron ore deposits still lay in the world’s great mountain ranges as well as vast deserts, Steel Mountains began as a pure exploration company. Today we are a mid-tier producer with a clear focus: develop and operate high-quality, long-life iron ore assets while setting new benchmarks for safety and environmental care.

Our name reflects the rugged terrain in which we operate, the pivotal role our products play in the metal industry, but most importantly, our steely will and determination to succeed.
